  8.       BACKGROUND
  9.       
  10.       When Stacker mounts a Stacker drive it verifies the STACVOL file
  11.       containing the compressed data.  If the Stacker Optimizer
  12.       (SDEFRAG) was interrupted during the "Writing New directories..."
  13.       stage of optimization, Stacker pauses the normal startup of your
  14.       computer with a message like this:

  16.         E: = C:STACVOL.DSK Restart during Stacker Optimizer detected -
  17.         NOT MOUNTED
  18.         Press any key to continue...
  19.       
  20.       SOLUTION
  21.       
  22.          - Determine the name of the STACVOL file
  23.          - Run SDEFRAG to repair the drive
  24.            
  25.       Determine the name of the STACVOL file
  26.       
  27.       From a DOS prompt, go to the STACKER directory and type STACKER
  28.       and press <Enter>.  Take note of the unmounted STACVOL file
  29.       (C:\STACVOL.DSK in this example):

  31.            Drive E: was drive E: at boot time [C:\STACVOL.DSK - Not
  32.               mounted]
  33.               
  34.       Run SDEFRAG to repair the drive
  35.       
  36.        1.  Insert Stacker disk 2, change to that drive, and type the
  37.            following:
  38.               SDEFRAG /RESTORE=drive:\STACVOL.XXX
  39.            where drive:\STACVOL.XXX  is the name of the STACVOL file
  40.            you determined in the previous step.  There is no space
  41.            between /RESTORE and the drive letter.
  42.        2.  Let SDEFRAG repair the Stacker drive. Remove the Stacker
  43.            disk and restart your computer.
